then just install pidgin and pidgin-data

dpkg -i /home/andy/stuff/pidgin_2.0.0_i386.deb /home/andy/stuff/pidgin-data_2.0.1-1_all.deb

    and for the 2.0.2 release do we have an official package or what ?
